Day 4 - Sihanoukville Marie's Birthday
We arrived about 6AM and were greeted by a number of Tuk Tuk drivers wanting our money. After we started to walk away from the bus and left most of the drivers behind we picked one that had been relatively quiet. We got turned up the hotel and wow was it good. This was going to be a good two and half days. Martin had arranged for us to check in early so we were taken to our room straight away. It was such a nice room with views overlooking the pool and the sea. Martin had also arranged a birthday cake for me so he sang me happy birthday and then we had cake on the balcony. We also had breakfast in the room before we headed out to the pool and Martin told me I had a manicure and pedicure appointment at 5PM, a present from June. As the day went on Martin and I had already started thinking about blowing the budget and cutting the trip short to allow us to stay in places like this. At 5PM I headed for the appointment whilst Martin went into town to get some bits. Whilst he was in town this guy asked him if he wanted ice. Martin didn't know what he was talking about so then the guy said Crystal. So Martin thought he meant the Champagne before the guy said no Heroin. So he quickly headed back to the hotel on a moto. We had some Champagne whilst talking to the parents and Fred, Fia and Siri. It does make you miss everyone but at least with skype it makes you feel like you are with them for a short while. Margareta said she was going to have a look around the Christmas market and that's when we realised it's the first of Advent. So strange to think that Christmas is coming up very soon and that it will pass without us really knowing.
We went to dinner at the hotel and had some great wine and food and finished the meal with some cheese and crackers! I love cheese! I had such an amazing day and Martin really spoilt me.
Day 5 - Sihanoukville
Today started with something that hadn't been done for a while - a visit to the gym. After breakfast it was a very busy day relaxing by the pool.
In the evening, we headed to the hotel restaurant again and had some more good food and wine, knowing that this was the last day of freedom and tomorrow was back to the budget!
Day 6 Sihanoukville Phnom Phen
It was so good the day before, we got up and headed to the gym again. After a pretty big breakfast, we headed to the pool to relax for a few hours till it was time to leave.
At 2pm we were collected by the bus company and headed over to get on the bus.Thankfully it was a different bus company and as we got going, we wished we'd taken these before. The bus was clean and comfortable and they even served some drink and snacks whilst showing a film.
Having arrived fairly late in the afternoon, we took dinner and headed out for a brief wander
