Hoping I am over the jet lag and the 13 1/2 hour sleep may hopefully have sorted it.

After yesterday's thorough coverage of the four American food groups - salt, sugar, fats, and soda (soft drink) I chose a healthy option for brekky this morning and went for Raisin Bran. Not a great move after all as its ingredients listed Sugar as 29 of the 80 grams ingested this was more than the girls coco pops or froot loops.

Oh well at least I will miss lunch as I will be still pinging from the sugar high - missing home cooking already.

Tarn and I just had our first Coffee Americana - it resembles coffee as much as raw sewerage represents fois gras. Two sips one to try and one more to confirm it really was that bad - sorry drainpipe but at least your used to it.

We went shopping today and first stop was Target for a cool bevvy as it was 31 degrees by midday. Nothing like Target at home as they have a cafe where you can get cool drinks and ICEE's or if your more adventurous food poisoning with a rotating hot dog or flouro yellow popcorn, as well as groceries and a liquor store.

We also went to Big 5 Sports and I bought an upgraded pair of the ASICS I paid $230 for. The newbies were $40 US. The girls got 2 pairs of Heelys for half the price of one pair at home. Incredibly cheap to shop here but obviously the wages are way below home so great for the tourist not so for the locals.

I should have heeded the warnings about using public transport here - full of weirdos. Had two hitting me up for money - one for a car. Also met a poor bloke at the bus stop whose car broke down and he was of to hock his TV to pay for repairs. Every city has beggars but these guys are pretty inventive in trying to get a dollar out of you.

Well back to the hotel and a swim on a perfect California day.

Will look for some home style cooling tonight as we can't live on pizza, burgers, and take away.

Disneyland day 1 tomorrow so if it is the happiest place on earth it will be a blast as most of the Americans we have encountered are pretty high on life already.
