Our train arrived in Prague at 6.30am! Lucky we were able to drop our bags off to the apartment but weren't able to check in till 1pm. We grabbed a map and tried to plan how to fill in those hours - we did this in a lovely bread shop where it was nice and warm as Prague was quite cold! Prague was gorgeous - especially the Old Town! A 10.30am walking tour to start the day - it was informative about the history of the country, we ended up in the 'Buda' (hilly) side of the country. We made our way back to the 'Pest' (flat) side and had some lunch. Was so hard to find a place that had local Hungarian food! We had a 12pm train trip to Budapest which took 3 hours. We got kicked out of our seats by other tourists who reserved their seats (general tickets do not have reserved seating). It seems they sell more tickets than seating as some people stood, but we were able to sit separately. Despite this you couldn't fault their train system. We booked a 9-7pm bike and wine tour (interesting combination!). We took an hour train ride to Wachau and then did a 25km bike ride near the river, in between the grape wines. We went to 3 wineries, tried an award winning chardonnay which was not at all like an Australian chardonnay. We also tried a local red and bought a bottle of each. The train from Salzburg to Vienna was nice and quick! We were lucky to end up with the apartment all to ourselves as our host went away. We headed out in the afternoon to the Freud Museum - where he lived and worked. It was small but was amazing to see his office and waiting room, and couch where he did psychoanalytic therapy. We had a chilled night as we had an all day tour booked the following day.
