Monica's travels
Just spent first night in Sydney and it's stopped raining at the moment, before we arrived there had been a drought but yesterday the weather was so bad it flooded all of the Gold Coast so it's a good thing we didn't plan to go there! Suffering from jetlag I think so I got up at 5 this morning but it's ok cos I'm not tired and it means I can faff around on the internet without feeling guilty for wasting time. Interesting things so far... the trains here are double decker and look very cool, and we have discovered why on neighbours they all drink half pints... everyone does here, they are called schooners or something and they are halfway between a pint and a half- so toadie is not the woman we all though he was.
We spent the morning having breakfast with the All Blacks (I joke not and have the photos to prove it, though they are blurred cos I was scared) and then went on a boat round the harbour- it was stunning. Went on to the botanical gardens which had some really huge bats and lots of joggers, then just wandered through the city centre taking it in. It's a fantastic city, kinda european but also a bit like new york but with many many chinese people. And they're right about everyone being very friendly, everyone except the hare krishna people, who got very pissed off when we said we didnt want their book on happiness cos we were already happy, they did not seem to understand this concept. ta ta for now
