Vanikoy Mosque was built by Vani Mehmet Efendi in 1670 during the reign of Ottoman Sultan Mehmed IV and now rises from its ashes as restoration comes to an end following a fire in 2020. The 358-year-old waterfront mosque once hosted many sultans who would come by boat to perform prayers.
