the Istanbul Naval Museum in Beşiktaş was established in 1961. The museum is situated in Beşiktaş next to the public square commemorated to the famous Ottoman admiral Hayreddin Barbarossa (Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa). The museum closed at 5, I arrived at 4:05 as the bus I was on was in major traffic. I did not know the last entrace was at 4 PM, so, alas, I did not go in.
