It is on the European shore of the Bosphorus. it was originally a small fishing village, known in Greek as Agios Fokas in the Byzantine period and then as Mesachorion. The area has an array of restaurants, bars, and pubs.is a popular nightlife destination for locals and wealthy visitors. The nightlife here tends to be mostly a flashy affair.
