The Bulgarian Jewish community was created by Jews expelled from Spain. remains almost entirely Sephardic and concentrated in Sofia. after the war, all but 5,000 of Bulgaria’s 50,000 Jews made aliyah.. At this time Jewish ethnic identity and cultural values are thriving
