Uskudar street scene
Ottoman coffee or dibek coffee is produced by grinding the roasted coffee beans on a mortar and mixing this coffee with a variety of mildly sweet spices. The mortar is like a large garlic hammer made of stone or wood and is often used for grinding grain and the like. This is the only such grinder I saw in Tukiye. It was pounding the beans.
