Statue of Alexander Georgiev Nikolov nicknamed Sasho Sladura, a famous Bulgarian jazz musician .After returning to Bulgaria after the disintegration of the Royal Symphony Orchestra, he began playing as a soloist violinist in the orchestra of the restaurant "Bulgaria", where he became a favorite of the audience and for his jubilant and joking temper he was nicknamed Sasho Sladura .It is said that he loved to tell jokes about Valko Chervenkov (leader of the Bulgarian Communist Party from 1949 to 1954, Prime Minister of the People's Republic of Bulgaria from 1950 to 1956, Deputy Prime Minister from 1956 to 1961). It is known that by Order No 234 of 15 September 1961 by Mircho Spasov Hristov, a Bulgarian politician from BCP , Deputy Interior Minister during socialism. As one of the closest associates of Todor Zhivkov , organized and managed the camps near Lovech and Skravena , guided smuggling channels and responsible for siphoning millions of levs (Bulgarian currency) from service "Cultural Heritage" at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Alexander Nikolov was sent to the labor concentration camp in Lovech . There he managed to survive only 11 days. After beatings, mistreatment, humiliation and mockery was killed.
