The Water Thick-knee, like the other Thick-knees, is mainly nocturnal.By day it can be found on river and lake edges (normally blending in beautifully with the rocks!).Crabs and other crustaceans make up a high proportion of prey. Other prey includes frogs, grasshoppers, termites and worms.
