Entrance to Victoria Falls National Park
The Victoria Falls and the immediate surrounding areas have been declared National Parks, Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park in Zambia and Victoria Falls National Park in Zimbabwe. The area is also designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, declared in 1989, and extending over Zambia and Zimbabwe. Both countries are signatories of the World Heritage Convention, and as such pledged to keep these designated areas 'intact for future generations'.
