Barrio de las Tres Cruces plaza
The barrio of the Calvary was one of the first parts of Trinidad to be urbanized amid deep religious feeling. The three crosses were erected in 1826 representing Corpu Christi and Easter week. For centuries, a Holy Week procession ended in this plaza. It was discontinued with the Revolution, but restarted in 1999. This space holds more meaning for the locals than Plaza Mayor.
