Plaza de Don Federico Moyua
he Plaza de Federico Moyúa or the Elliptical Square, as it is known by the people of Bilbao, was built in the early 1940s by the architect Jose Luis Salinas. Sixty years later, his son Manuel Salinas was commissioned to remodel this part of the heart of the city. Reopened in 1997, the plaza retains its original elliptical shape and its English and French-style flower beds, incorporating modern steel lampposts and functional street furniture as new elements. It also recovered the iconic original fountain. Thanks to all this, Bilbao residents still consider it as one of their favourite meeting places.
