Ribera Park sculpture "Judith"
This is a sculpture by Markus Lüpertz (Liberez, 1941), cast in bronze; it stands more than three feet high and weighs about 1,500 kilos. Located opposite the Library of the University of Deusto, it depicts a Biblical heroine. According to the story, Judith beheaded the Assyrian general Holofernes and exhibited his head to the enemy army, who fled, saving the Jewish people of Bethulia.
