This bronze statue is considered the symbol of Santa Clara. and depicts a boy with a boot in his hand from which a water fountain emerges. The tall green building int he background is the Hotel Santa Clara Libre which is pockmarked with bullet holes from the 1958 battle for the city between Che Guevara and Baatista's governmet troops.
