The street was called Calle de la Judería or Barrio de los Judíos in the 13th century. In fact, the Jewish community lived in it between 1256 and 1492. On August 17, 1492, when the expulsion of the Jews from this city was verified, it was renamed Nueva Dentro Street . In 1992 the City Council of Vitoria decreed the current name: Calle Nueva Dentro-Judería .
