"Water curtain" The old Hospital dels Capellans (or dels Clergues) in Girona was located on a Roman necropolis dating to the first century,the area is located next to the old Via Augusta as it passes through Girona. The Romans were burying themselves on the outskirts of the city, near the roads. That is why the houses of what is now Riu Galligants street in Girona conserve in their foundations the stone structures of the tombs of what was once a burial area. in the 12th century, that the Capellans Hospital, the first hospital center in the city of Girona, was built in the area. The building has been extensively renovated, and archeologists have found remains of almost every age. These remains indicate that the building has been in a continuous occupation in the time since its construction to the present day.
