Royal Castle
This is a copy of the original which was blown up in WWII. It began in the 14th century as a wooden fortress, but by the 17th century was one of Europe's most splendid residences. It was occupied by Russian tsars. In 1918, after Poland gained independence, it was occupied by the president It was reconstructed from the ground up from 1971-1984. Today it is a museum.
