Old turf famhouse and museum. In 2002, remains of buildings from the 10th & 11th centuries were found in the field below the old farm. Snorri Thorfinnson was a farmer here at that time, supposedly the first son of Europeans born on the North American continent., th son of Thofinnur Karlsefni and Gudidu Thorbjarnasdottir. Opened in 1952, Glaumbær Museum is Iceland's best museum housed inside turf-roofed farm buildings.
