Tatras Mountains Jaszczurowka (Holy Heart of Jesus) Chapel,
(I pulled off the side of the road into a small parking lot when I saw this church. I got out of the car and was standing by the side of the road with camera poised to take a picture when a huge bus full of French tourists stopped directly in front of me. The people on the bus were as amazed as I was although it was somewhat comical. Fortunately I speak enough French to have expressed my "outrage" to the tour director.)The church designed by Stanisław Witkiewicz was built in 1904 and blessed in 1907. The chapel is a typical example of Zakopane style. The building is visibly a log cabin based on a high stone foundation. In the front it has arcades. On the shingled roof there is a tiny tower with a bell.
