The 1st known swimming pool in this area dates from around 1900. It was made from turf and stones, a simple wall across a hot water brook. From 1920s-1041, Youth Association held regular swimming courses in the pool. In 1948 the new concrete pool using hot spring water was built and is still used. For a whole century nearly every child in the area learned to swim in these two pools.
