Rauðfeldsgjá Gorge
Rauðfeldsgjá, which translates to Red-Cloak Rift, is a beautiful gorge in Botnsfjall Mountain on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. In the summer, it is possible to walk up to and climb inside it. We chose not to go inside due to Jeanne's foot problem and as one will probably need waterproof shoes and clothing as the path may have several inches of water and there are continuous drips from overhead. Inside, the space widens into a majestic grotto covered from the ground to the sky in a bright green moss.
