A church has stood on this site since the 12th century, but the current Gothic structure dates to the 14th and 15th centuries. This is not the luckiest church in the world: it was destroyed in 1529 by heavy hail, suffered severe damage in WWII and then was the victim of a mysterious fire in 1976. Today the church serves as a military garrison church.
