Poznan Plac Rafaskiego
This area was the site of the non-existent Jewish cemetery in the Middle Ages. In 1793 the construction of the New Town was planned in these areas, which accelerated the fire of 1803. It was then that the Prussians forced the Jews to leave the old cemetery, The historic tombstones disappeared without a trace. Legend has it that the cemetery was abolished, because Queen Luiza Pruska , resident in the vicinity, did not want to have a view of the Jewish graves During WWII part of the square and adjacent streets were seriously damaged.
