The healthy tomatoes have long been a specialty at Melum and are tastier and healthier than the good old traditional tomatoes. They contain three times the amount of the antioxidant lycopene, which research suggests helps protect against heart disease and cancer. A total of 5,000 square meters of heated greenhouses are grown and the production is over 400 tons per year.
