Blue flag with a red circle Aathi Thamizhar Peravai Partyis the political movement of Arunthathiyar, a Dalit community in Tamil Nadu which is so low-ranking that it is frequently described as "Dalits among the Dalits". Its name, which means "Early Tamils Forum", reflects the attitude that the Arunthathiyar people are direct descendants of the earliest inhabitants of present-day Tamil Nadu, contrary to the belief that their ancestors have relatively recently migrated to the area, which they obviously understand as another means of their isolation by higher-caste people. ATP undertakes a number of activities aimed at improving the status of the Arunthathiyar. The Dalits are the lowest caste, formerly known as the "untouchables" The red and black flag in the center is of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, the current governing party in the state of Tamil Nadu. It was founded in 1949 as the result of a split in the Dravidar Kazhagam.. The party flag is black-red horizontal bicolour, which symbolizes "rising sunlight" - the emancipation of Dravidian people . It is a regional political party with a centre-left political position and political ideologies of Social Democracy, Democratic Socialism and Populism. The Dravidians are the ethnic group of southern India. The party aims to form a coalition with Dravidian parties in 3 other states with the common language of Tamil to counter the dominance of Hindi-speaking belt.
