The legend of Jhitku and Mikhi - Mikhi lived in a village with her 7 brothers. Her beloved, Jhitku, worked as a servant in her father's home for 3 years, hoping to marry her one day. They did marry and started living together. Mikhi's brothers had a dream that a dam was being built in the village and a goddess said the dam could not be completed without a human sacrifice. The brothers sacrificed Jhitku and buried his body in a field. Mikhi worried about her husband's disappearance and set out to find him. In the moonlight, she saw his finger sticking out of the ground, dug him up, and overwhelmed with remorse killed herself. Jhitku and Mikhi are now worshipped as gods of prosperity and wealth.
