This man was invited to talk with us on the bus about being an Indian Muslim. He is owner of the restaurant we went to later for lunch and a former wrestler. He feels good about the relationship between the Muslim and Hindu communities. He had just returned a few days before from Pakistan where he went to visit some relatives and had a negative experience. He was followed, taken to the police station, and approached with offers to be a spy and/or to join the radical Islam movement there. He stated the officials in Pakistan knew he was from India and he was targeted. One of the big political issues in India is the tension between be right wing nationalist Hindus who want India to be an exclusively Hindu country and those who are not Hindu and those who welcome diversity.
