Walking down Venezuela Street
The building of the old Military Circle collects the neoclassical style that prevailed at the time and, together with other buildings of the same line, lay the foundations for a new type of architecture, which supported the embellishment of the city of Quito at the height of the European capitals. Its ornate stone facade contrasts with the adobe and plaster that surround it, as well as making it visually very striking for the same reason. The building was built over 18 years (1918-1936). The design and planning of the structure were specifically directed to satisfy the social and recreational needs of the armed forces of Ecuador.
