4 cabinets, body is a face elevated on anthropomorphic legs and covered with a mask. Each mask tells a story. They draw on traditional Meriam shapes and stone. The Meriam are an Indigenous Australian group of Torres Strait Islander people who are united by a common language, strong ties of kinship and survived as skilled hunter–fisher–gatherers in family groups or clans living on a number of inner eastern Torres Strait Islands including Mer or Murray Island. Koki cabinet There are 4 main winds that blow through the Torres strait. Koki is the monsoonal rain. Koki is recognized by the appearance of the black frigate bird and white tern.
