"Japan Supernatural" The Lonely House at Adachigahara in Oshu (1885) Tsukioka Yos***oshi (1839-92) In Japanese folktales, this remote area is home to a demon hag. In one story she once cared for a girl with a terrible illness. She discovered the only cure was the liver of an unborn baby. She waited for a suitable victim, and eventually a pregnant woman crossed her path. When the deed was done the old woman was distraught to discover she had killed her own daughter.
