Chinaman's Garden Massacre 2000 Rusty Peters (1935-) Indigenous Gija family lived near a Chinman with a vegetable garden. They worked together to collect dingo skins. On one trip to Halls Creek to deliver skins, the Chinese people were killed. The site of the massacre is marked by the two gum (Eucalyptus) trees. The house of the man who did the killing is across the river. The artist's uncle lived to tell the story of the massacre.
