Cathedral of the Nativity of the Virgin, Suzdal Kremlin
Dating back to 1225, this cathedral is the oldest in Suzdal and one of the oldest in Russia. Its distinctive blue star-spangled onion domes are 18th Century additions while the other immediately striking feature - the huge intricate gold inlaid doors - are a masterpiece of 13th Century craftsmanship. Inside the cathedral is covered in bright frescoes which are currently being restored to a very high lustre.
