Russian Academic Youth Theater, Theater Square
This was the house of the general major K. Poltoratsky. This house was one of the cultural centres of Moscow; balls for those famous outside of capital, the local cream of society gathered. In the 1840s, the first floor housed one of the first private theater companies. In the 1920s, the Bolshoi company had opera and ballet performances here.In 1992 the theater changed its name and became the Russian Academic Youth Theater (RAMT). The word "youth" has not appeared casually. The theater's repertoire entirely corresponds to the name. Here it is possible to find performances for all ages.
