The Peacock Clock, The Hermitage, St. Petersburg
Attributed to the workshop of James Cox, English mechanic, clockmaker, it was purchased disassembled by Prince Potemkin. In 1791, it was reassembled, but Potemkin died before the completion. Empress Catherine II acquired it and after her death, her son, Paul I, moved it to the Winter Palace. The movement of the clock is hidden in the big mushroom in the middle.
