Museo San Juan de la Cruz - San Juan de la Cruz (English: St. John of the Cross ), born June 24 1542, He was a major Counter-Reformation figure, a Spanish mystic, Catholic saint, Carmelite friar and priest.On September 28, 1591, Brother Juan de la Cruz arrived at the recently founded convent of the Discalced Carmelites in Úbeda; as he himself wrote, to “cure a fever.” He would remain there, in the poorest cell, until the moment of his death. It was his final encounter with the Beloved, at 12 midnight, between December 13 and 14
