Puerta de Granada is one of the original city gates One of the best preserved is the Puerta de Granada, so named because it is the exit to the old Camino Real de Granada. IThis gate, which is currently preserved in perfect condition, is part of the wall of Arab origin.Popular tradition has it that Isabel la Catolica passed through it, after sleeping in the Convent of Santa Clara, on her way to the last stronghold of Arab civilization, Granada. Legend says that there is a treasure hidden near the door and that only the person who manages to eat a pomegranate under the lintel of the door without dropping a grain to the ground will discover the sumptuous treasure.
