Puerto Varas
In 1913, the Puerto Varas Train Station was inaugurated, conceived as one of the largest in southern Chile, since its main activity was the transport of cattle.Until its closure in 1997 it was a social space for children, for family outings and Sunday panoramas. Today a farmer's market is held there every Saturday. The govenment is engaged in discussions to esurect train service in and to the region.
