Roadside shine to Gauchito Antonio Gil, a folk religious figure of Argentina's popular culture. Legend has it that Gaucho Gil was a good-hearted outlaw who stole from the rich and gave to the poor. Before his hanging, Gil is said to have pledged to become a miracle worker.Travelers stop to offer quilmes (beer), wine, cigarettes, red flowers or other objects to greet the memory .
