Former palace built in 1903 displaying the original furniture & antiques once owned by the residence of Mauricio Braun and Josefina Menendez , built in 1903 .Through its collections, the history of the Magallanes area and especially of the city of Punta Arenas is exhibited, from its discovery in the 16th century to the beginning of the 20th century .Menendez was a Chilean politician, writer and diplomat . He was a cultural adviser and collaborator of the Military Junta . He received the National Prize for Literature in 1986. The same year he was appointed ambassador of Chile in Spain .
