Formed in 1903, it serves as the national ceremonial unit. As a unit, it has never been in combat.It is the caretaker of the Casa Rosada,The Regiment also mounts guard at the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Cathedral, where its founder's remains are buried, and at the Palace of the Argentine National Congress.
