The perimeter wall has an imposing height and recessed panels around the entire perimeter. The panels are known to have decorated the Royal Palace. Djoser was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh of the 3rd Dynasty during the Old Kingdom in the 27th century BC, and the founder of this epoch. This is just a small section of the original which once encompassed the entire pyramid complex. When complete, it formed a huge rectangle of about 550 by 275 meters.
