Wadi El Rayan is a unique nature protectorate in Faiyum Governorate, Egypt, under the supervision of the Ministry of Environmental Affairs. It is Named after King El Rayan Ibn El Walid who had lived in the area with his army. He was was allegedly King Amenhotep III of the 18th dynasty in the Modern Kingdom of ancient Egypt; the father of Akhenaten and the grandfather of Tutankhamen.
