Little Mick's Hunny Harem Extravanganza
Hi all,
Well I am now on the last leg of my journey and can almost count the days till I return. Although saying that I still don't exactly know - I must confirm with the airline tomorrow.
Well I left Bangkok at 15:30 yesterday and arrived at the hotel in Cape town at 15:00 (bangkok time) so I was travelling for almost 24 hours. With the time difference I arrived i CT for 11ish. I got to my base and straight away began to plan the next few days. One of the travel agents at the Ashanti hotel told me to go to table mountain today as the weather was really good and its not forcast to be great for the next few days. Off I went at 2ish and began a 2 hour hike from 300m up to 1100m. Real bad idea when you are tired from travelling. What's worse is it was quite hot and I was in jeans!!! Anyway I kept telling myself that it was nothing compared to a session in the gym with Colin and that some how got me to the top. The journey down I opted for the cable car and was glad I did. It was the most amazing gondola ride I've been on and knocked the socks off of Christchurch or the blue mountains! The gondola held 65 people and would rotate all the way around on the way down giving you 360 degrees views off Cape Town. It was very good. After that I carried on my advetures, but this time in the food department. I went for dinner around 7ish and was shown the game platter which was a mix of Oztrich, Zeebra, Gamebok and crocdile!!! Yummy! I just hope they dn't try and take a bite out of me when I go on sarfari.
The plan for the next week is as follows: Tmrw cape point and winery tour in Stellanboch. Sunday head for Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was held prisoner were thousand of others during the aparthied years. Monday then I head on a 5 day tour of the garden route which includes the shark dive, the biggest bungee in the world (211m), gliding over the cliffs and sea looking down on whales, a sarfari tour and to see some white tigers (there are only 300 left in the world - apperantly). Well it all sounds like a pretty good week to me, so I'd best turn it in for an early night. I'll need all my energy.
Sooty, Brian and Seamus will have to plan a trip to S.A to do this bungee if I manage to do it!!! I must admit I am more nervous of that than meeting Jaws!!!
Hopefully see you all soon,
Michael
