Hi All,
Yesterday was a pretty relaxed day. After booking our flights to Koh Samui we ventured to the Aquarium that is connected to the Petronas towers, but as we are not Malaysians, the ticket prices were considerably more expensive. We decided to retrace our steps and go back to the towers and find the metro and head over to Time Square. This is a huuuuuuuuuge shopping mall! It has 10 floors full of shops, big cinema complex and an amusement park ride in it. We wondered around to try and find some lunch and unfortunately chose very poorly and had one of our worst meals of the holiday. It wasn't horrible, but not as tastey as the other things we could have eaten. Next time, we just need to stick through the hunger pains and wait until we find a decent restaurant!
After that we did some grocery shopping as we had decided to cook our first meal of the holiday- roast veg pasta :) We took a taxi back to the flat, got our bikinis on and chilled by the pool. I managed to finish my book (Dan Browns new book, highly recommended :D). The afternoon comprised of pretty much just lazing around. Emma cooked dinner and then we watched two movies ( A single man and It's complicated). Then off to bed.
This morning the alarm went off, but i forgot to hit snooze and overslept by half an hour. We quickly got up and Emma prepared yummy breakfast of fresh papaya, banana and melon. Was good to finally eat some fruit!!! Emily was not feeling so well today, so she decided to stay back at the flat and rest up. Emma and I ventured into town and tried our luck at the Petronas towers to see if we could be the lucky few (1400 free tickets) to get a free ticket. We arrived at 9:30 and they were all gone :( No worries though, we then hopped onto the metro and went to visit the Old Railway station and the National Mosque. When visiting the Mosque we had to put on long hooded purple robes. The Mosque was really beautiful and we saw some of the kids during their sunday school lessons.
After Emma and I wondered over to the Central Market and then to Petalang Market which is in China Town. We then decided to find this restaurant that had been recommended in the Rough Guide book we have. AMAZING food. Very different taste from what we have been having. Very pleased we made the effort to find it.
Our internet time is running out, so need to sign off now. Will try and update soon!
