Megsy on the go...
We've come to Prague for a long weekend away from the big smoke.
It is one of the most beautiful places we've been, it's just gorgeous and very cheap! You can get drunk for under £5 which normally only buy you two pints in London.
DAY 1
We had a sleep in and then walked all over the city to explore. We went to the Museum of Communism which was interesting. Prague has a lot of history and when it was Czechoslovakia it was occupied by Germany for some time during the War. That's why it didn't get ruined like so many others around it.
DAY 2
We got up eraly and went into the main square to go on an all day walking tour. First we saw the Astronimoical Clock and our guide chatted about the Old Town Square. We then headed dor the river Vltava to go on an hour boat cruise. We got a free beer as we learnt about the city. Next we walked through the Jewish Quarter and through to the Charles Bridge. This is such a beautiful brdige and you see photos of it everywhere. There are lots of little stalls and performers on it 24hrs a day and it has statues all the way along. We then caught a tram up the mountain to have lunch and more beer. We had great views of the city on the way down to Prague Castle. We walked around the Castle which didn't really look like a traditional castle, more like buildings of a little town square but it was great. Our tour then ended and we went home for a rest before venturing out for tea.
After tea we went to the Black Light Theatre. This was very strange! There's about 5 main characters who mime really badly and try to tell a story through singing. We're not sure what they were on about as it was all in Czech. It was just so weird. The set is all black and then the performers and props are painted in fluro paint. It jumped from theme to theme and was one of the bizarrest things we've seen.
DAY 3
We spent all day just wondering and relaxing. We had Mexican and a few beers for lunch. We went to the airport early and we still had to rush once we finally got through customs! We bought some very cheap alcohol duty free. They don't sell it in other countries as it's banned, it's about 70%, we'll save it for when we get home.
So it was a great trip, very chilled and relaxed. Definatley more to see outside of Prague, there's a Nazi concentration camp and a bone church, maybe next time.
We hope your all well, we're missing you all and we did try to ring for Dutchskie but someone never answered their phone?! Take care.
