Back to Bangkok!
Just a quick update with what I've been doing and where I'm headed to next...i did have some pictures to upload but both internet cafes I've tried at haven't worked :(
My detox on Koh Tao worked really well, it was the perfect place to chill out! I spent a week and a half on the island (meaning I've spent almost a month of my Thailand time there!) and made sure I ate lots of fruit and veg, drank lots of water and did a few yoga classes. It worked a treat and I now feel amazing! The yoga was so much fun, and the best bit was that the classes were run by a Scottish guy who turned out to be from Oldmeldrum! Small world! While on Koh Tao I made friends with a girl called Catherine so we had a lot of laughs during our time there, mainly at the laid-back attitude of the Thai people working in bars and restaurants!
On my way up to bangkok I stopped at a seaside resort called Hua Hin...the plan was to try and catch up with an old friend of my Dad's, but this wasn;t to be as he was ill when I called in to his bar. Hua Hin was nice, but I didn't see anyone around my age...most people were 40+!!!
I had a pretty uncomfortable journey up to Bangkok...turned out the bus wasn;t air-conditioned! Got here on Friday night and Catherine (who had headed up here on Wed) and I headed out for drinks on Khao San Road...so much fun for people watching!
Haven't done much else here...I tried to go and see the Grand Palace today (in the picture) but it was unexpectedly closed for a half day, typical!
Now I have to head off and get packed...also hoping to catch up with Swedish alex tonight as he emailed to say he is in the city. Tomorrow at 7am I'm headed for Cambodia...exciting! I have to fit in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam in 6 weeks, I'm looking forward to the adventure but I also know that moving around so much will mean the time will go even more quickly and before I know it I'll be home, noooooooo!
Will try and upload the last of the Thailand pics when I get a chance.
Love to all
