Hi!

Happy to report that the weather has improved as I've travelled down the coast...just spent the whole day sunbathing at the Lagoon in Airlie Beach.

My last few days in Cairns were the same and got really lucky with the weather because it has rained a lot there. On my second last day I went on Uncle Brian's tour to the Atherton Tablelands. It was a nice chilled day walking through the rainforests and chilling in Waterfalls. One of the waterfalls we went to (and swam through,scary!) was the one where Peter Andre shot the video for Mysterious Girl! The highlight was the tour guide, he was hilarious!

On my last day I went on a boat trip out onto the Great Barrier Reef, which was amazing. The weather was so nice, got a little bit burnt. We went out on a glass bottom boat and saw a huge turtle. Most of the day was spent snorkelling...so good! Saw loads of fish, including clown fish (aka Nemo!)...so exciting! A guy I had been speaking to on the boat saw a Manta Ray and said it was huge...think I would have freaked out if I saw it! We had to wear stinger suits (full length wetsuits) because it's stinger season here...all the beaches I have been to have stinger nets set up to swim in because it's too dangerous in the sea! The food on the boat was lovely too(prawns, meat, salad, cheese, cake, fruit)...especially good because a lot of what I've been eating latelyis beans on toast and supernoodles,feel like I'm back at uni again!

I got the bus on Friday to Mission Beach. SO far it has been a great way to travel, can just sit and chill to pass the hours and I've also met lots of people. Stayed at Mission bBeach for 2 nights, met some great people there (2 english girls and 2 canadian girls) and chilled on the beach as well as enjoying a free barbeque there on Saturday night.

On Sunday I left for Magnetic Island. I had a bit of a disastrous day finding a replacement for my phone which broke, but tried to stay calm and realise how lucky I am that that kind of thing is my only worry at the moment! Magnetic Island was beautiful...on Monday I hired a little Moke car (without a roof!) with 2 girls from my dorm. We had a great day driving around the coast of the island and stopping to chill and swim at the various beaches.

On Tuesday I left for Airlie Beach. the journey was quite long but I met a girl who ended up being in my dorm when we arrived so we went out for a few drinks last night. Today I spent the day sunbathing at the lagoon, great way to pass the day! Just going to chill tonight as my cough isn't getting better, then on Friday I head off on a sailing trip around the Whitsunday Islands...really looking forward to it!
