Day 2 and 3 - Left Lima at 6am, amazingly there were lots of locals going about (buses full of them) so not sure wher they were all going so early in the morning. We had a 4 hour drive to Paracas, where we boarded a speedboat to the Ballesteras Islands, often called the poor man´s Galapagos Islands. We saw Sea Lions, Penguins, Birds and Dolphins! AFter a short drive we arrived at Huacachina, which is an oasis in the middle of the desert )see picture above!)....

hi again from Lima, Still having a great time...really tired tomorrow and away to go and pack up our stuff to head to the hotel in the Centre of Lima to meet the tour group. Really excited! Hoping to be there around lunchtime but putting off getting everything into rucksack so it may take a little bit longer. Last night we celebrated Gayle's birthday in the hostel bar, drinking Pisco sours (Peru's local drink!). Met some great people, including a psychic guy!...

Hello from Peru! Just a short entry from us both to let you know we arrived safely in Lima. Journey went quite well and 9 hr flight went fairly quickly, the films/tv and food were all great. Miami airport was a different story...not very clean or organised at all! Were stuck on the plane for an extra 2 hours due to a delay but once we got going the 2nd flight went really quickly...possibly due to the fact that we were both fast asleep the whole way! Hello Everybody, Just a quick note to let you know we have arrived safely in Lima. Our room is like a little shed with very ichy blankets, and there are strange chicken and dog noises coming from next door. Having a quiet day today to find our feet and out for tea later to celebrate my birthday. Missing you all lots.

Huge thank you to everyone who came along to our leaving party on Saturday night...was so much fun and we really enjoyed getting the chance to catch up with everyone before we leave. Thanks for all the drinks that we got bought for us too! We're leaving tomorrow (aaaargh!) so also want to say a big thanks to everyone for all the cards, money and kind words we have received before we set off on our round-the-world adventure.
